What is wrong with my MP3 player!!!! please answer?

I have a GPX MP3 player http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_10104_018W684560110001P?vName=Computers+%26+Electronics If you want to know what kind

when i plugged it to my computer a small icon used to come up that said safely remove hardware but now when i plug it to my computer it says MTP media player and it wants me to use windows media player And windows media player doesn't work for my mp3... please help
it wont work i copy the songs to it but their not there :(
and they didnt give me a disc

when you connect it to pc, it should pop up: 'new software...''
find it in 'my computer' and drag-drop files to it..
also, in the mp3 player menu, make sure that the connection setting is set to 'disk-drive' . if still no good, put it down to bad experience,
it only cost you £14/$27, you can get a much better iPod Shuffle for £30/$55 on the internet...
