What old version of Linux should I install on my old Compaq Presario 1245 laptop? ?
I've got a 10 year old Compaq Presario 1245 sitting around collecting dust. I thought I would attempt to install an old version of Linux onto it that would make it a bit more viable. The current Windows 98 on it is so slow. It takes, literally, 5 minutes to load fully. I'm looking for a basic OS by Linux which will allow me to make this old laptop into a portable word processor, ebook reader, and MP3 player and that is all, no more or less is expected.

So what is the best version of Linux to get for this old laptop?
Download the latest version of Puppy Linux.
It simply flies on old equipment.
You can also install Damn Small Linux. I've tried both and like Puppy far better...
