Win98 drivers for Coby MPC885 MP3 player?
Hey,
I got a Coby MP3 player, model MPC-885, that has 1GB flash memory, FM radio, voice recorder, and can be used as a flash disk. However, my laptop only runs Windows 98 SE, and the player didn't come with a driver disk! The Coby website says they have drivers, but in reality they don't, and when I called their tech support, they said that the drivers on the website wouldn't work, and they would mail me a CD.
The CD they mailed me isn't working either, the PC doesn't recognize the player! Does anyone out there have this player with a working CD that I could borrow or something?
This player is based on the ALi M5661r chipset, made in Taiwan, and is used in a lot of players in Europe. The driver for the Apacer Audio Steno AU522 will work for your player too, since they both use the same chip. You can download the driver from this site:

Good luck, and I wouldn't try the Apacer firmware upgrade or manual if I were you - they seem to be only for the Apacer and not the Coby.
